Justice and righteousness in Old Testament theology, its historical religious background, and its implication to Burma/ Myanmar today

Abstract

The primary task of this project is to explore the intended meaning of the hendiadys mishpat wetsedek by interpreting in some selected texts in the book of Amos for theological insights and the people of Myanmar. For such a reason that defining the work of prophet Amos, one of the Old Testament prophets, called by God in order to denounce and remind the corrupted ruling classes and the rich in time of the eight century BCE that speaks out relevant biblical message in the ethical and legal dimension of the context of Myanmar where mismanaged, scandalous, and corrupt social, economic and political systems.
